When the call came in one morning in 2005 from Buckingham Palace, we were amazed. We were asked if we would be interested in arranging all the flowers for Her Majesty the Queen when she entertained her family and friends for her week long stay in York for Royal Ascot. We had a meeting with Her Majesty's florist and waited for what seemed like a lifetime, then we got the call again and we started making plans.
After our wonderful week arranging and caring for the flowers, we were told that Her Majesty the Queen had asked for us to be presented to her. We quickly learnt how to curtsey! She thanked us for the lovely arrangements we had created for her, asked us a few more questions and our meeting was over. What a wonderful experience, an honour we will never forget.
